Advocating for Our Community
The San Antonio Police Officers’ Association Political Action Committee (SAPOA PAC) represents the concerns of police officers and their families to elected officials at all levels of government. The PAC carries the voice of the membership and advocates for legislation, benefits, and working conditions for our city’s police officers.
Key responsibilities of the PAC include:
- Direct engagement of elected officials and their staffs.
- Act as a representative for the membership and carry the voice of police officers to elected officials.
- Where applicable, meet with candidates for endorsement reviews.
- Endorse candidates for public office and focus on those who support public safety and the uniformed officer.
- Engage the community through outreach programs to build trust and respect for the role of police officers in our neighborhoods.

We are aware of a political mailer making its way through our neighborhoods that misrepresents our endorsement of Luz Elena Chapa for Bexar County DA. (see attached)
I want to set the record straight.
SAPOA's endorsement was guided by one question: which candidate is best positioned to support public safety and pursue justice for the citizens of Bexar County?
Luz Elena Chapa has demonstrated what we believe the DA's office needs most, a commitment to community trust, transparent communication, and a collaborative relationship with the officers on the front lines.
This mailer is being pushed by Jane Davis, a product of the current DA's administration. San Antonians have already seen what that leadership looks like, and it hasn't worked. We can’t continue to allow politicians to scare our community against law enforcement.
Plain and simple, this is a political scare tactic designed to mislead voters. We won't be distracted by it, and we hope our community won't be either.
San Antonio deserves a DA focused on unity, public safety, and real solutions, not political attacks designed to tear our community apart.
Let’s stand together and vote for Luz Elena Chapa!
Johnny Perez,
President of SAPOA
